Alignment

Everybody have an alignment. Whatever if is Lawful Good, Neutral Good, Chaotic Good, Lawful Neutral, True Neutral, Chaotic Neutral, Lawful Evil, Neutral Evil and Chaotic Evil. We hold a special alignment that each of us can share.

everyone generally has an alignment. but I usually tend to ignore it as everyone doesn't do everything to their so called alignment. there are times where most people will do things outside of it. like a "lawful good" person will do something chaotic evil. or vice versa.

I would disagree in that trying to place people into such neat little categories only works in AD&D games. We have dynamic ethical, moral, psychological and social responses and triggers not static or quasi static parameters. As such I can and probably have been each of those all at once within any given situation. As well as residing in the grey area that holds sway between the center used to define each.

Only a cardboard character on a game board is only one and driven by its influences and parameters.

Maybe so but I think an alignment does work in real life too not just an RPG game. It does depend on a situation and people do change their alignment one way or another. My philosophy for being Lawful Good that we obey and follow the law of good.

Re: Alignment

I don't set that much stock in an alignment, given the fact that I test as Neutral Good one week and as Chaotic Good the next.. I don't fit neatly into any one category and a lot of the alignment is subject to mood and circumstance. I'm sure that there've been times in my life where I fell into the neutral/evil spectrum, too. I guess you could call my baseline 'good', maybe, but everyone who's ever met me would laugh at any lawful-placement. :) I don't think we can judge people that way, really.
