Runelore This 8-10 week course will combine runelore with exercises and stories from the runic pathway. Its emphasis lies on reconnecting the runes with the everyday life they were once a part of, using the runes for divinatory purposes and creating small-scale energywork with their presences. Open to all levels of learning."

Default Note about the Aetts (weeks 2-4)

In this week and the following two weeks, we'll be covering every rune within the Elder Futhark. Traditionally, the 24 runes of the Elder Futhark are divided up into groups of eight. A group of eight is called Aett (sometimes translated to mean "eight", but I far prefer the meaning "family"/"group") and is typically ascribed to different deities within the Norse pantheon. Each separate Aett tells one third of a story, which you will learn in these three weeks of intensive theory. It is pretty much the only way to divide this load of theory into small chunks for every week, so bear with me as we dive into the runes themselves..

(I am starting a little early this week, again, because I doubt I'll have much time to spare tomorrow. Just relax and engage in the course whenever you feel like it.)

Default Re: Note about the Aetts (weeks 2-4)

What I'm finding as I work through the second Aett is how much visual imagery - a storyline - helps me remember core meanings. I started off using parallels between the runes and tarot, but this isn't working for me. I need to create a full story about each Aett. Still a little unclear about the differences between Fehu and Uruz, but it's coming.
