Default Spontaneous Kundalini Experiences

http://www.themystica.com/mystica/ar...kundalini.html

The experience of spontaneous kundalini is reportedly dangerous and difficult
to handle, if unprepared (and by definition, if it's spontaneous, then one IS indeed, unprepared). Has anyone experienced this either personally or secondhand, and if so, who did you deal with it?
What triggered it?

I'd like to explore a series of "spiritual Emergencies" and clearly this is one variety. not a thing I have - personally - experienced, but I have indeed witnessed it.

Nineteen days straight , 1994...

This was my direct initiation experience ,
I have spoken of...then saw a raven turn
white , and the sun turn black , and I went
to the other side...

I was in other spaces , for that 19 days...

We call it "Fire In The Head"...

( though it is through the whole system )

Bisbee , Arizona , 1975...

Sitting under copper pyramid , with crystals
in lap , apex of pyramid , on third eye and heart...

Started vibrating , after fire breathing...

Got to where my teeth where chattering...broke tooth...

Saw "lotus" gate open , above crown...lost time...

Yet my friend , who watched , told me it was 20 minutes...

I thought he had done this meditation before...

He said :

"no...just an experiment...I needed a guinea pig"...

I almost decked him for that one...

Otherwise...I dealt with it...both times...

Ice cold showers , and baths , helped...

( Finn bathed in a stream...Celtic mythology )

Stan Grof , in America...Spiritual Emergency Network...

Google that , Feranaja...

For a start :

I'm very familiar with Grof's work actually. I'm looking here for the classical, fire up the spine sort of awakening. My own initiatic experiences bore o resemblance to what I've heard about kundalini, powerful in a different way.

I studied grof back in university, and did some holotropic breathwork as well. but again - this topic is really more specific to kundalini. A second one on Grof would be great!

That is what I had , twice...

Once for 19 days...

We call it "Fire in the head"...

Just a different term...

As I said , however , it infuses the whole system...

I experienced it...first hand...I am telling you what
it was like...first time , I blew open my crown...

Second time was electrical fire through the system...

Controlled psychosis , when properly dealt with...

Shamen know this...they just have their names
for it , and methods to deal with it...

I'm not dealing with this personally, but I know someone who has. He is not a shaman per se but has a great talent, that I believe he is not heeding. One can never force knowledge or training on another, of course.

My own process was very different; I was born with the Gifts I have; developed them early enough that when I later on lost touch with the magic, it didn't die out in my completely. My midlife years - especially 44 till no - have been more of a steady rebirthing and re discovery of my power (as opposed to the phase between 30 and 44, when it was so much more about book-learning). I haven't experienced this explosive thing..and not sure what to suggest to the one I know who IS - given that he is walking a very different path from my own (with some overlaps).

Got it...

Thanks for clarifying , so I understand what I may offer...

I have seen this occur with some of my students , as well...

One of the main things I tell them first...

And was taught to me , as well...

Get your hands in earth...garden...hard work , as in physical
labor...do not just sit and meditate...long walks in nature...

Chop wood , carry water...this has long been the advice ,
during the kundalini type initiatory experience...

One of my old friends...lived with his master on Mount
Kailash...he had him build a stone temple , while he was
experiencing months of kundalini fire...

Grounding the current , is most important...

It is similar to running 440 current , through a 110 system...

( Oh , yeah...carry a large jade river / sea stone , in pocket )

I think that's excellent advice. I know it has helped me on every single occasion when I have felt myself in spiritual crisis. I'd like to see this happen, too. But all we can ever do is put the ideas out there and hope for the best, right?

I also suggested grounding exercises, variants on the classic "make youp spine into a root and let it sink into the earth" - a few variants actually. I also feel that keeping a normal regular daily discipline of eating and sleeping helps.

I was always told that if one has a crisis magically to get the hell out of the country, but the opposite has held true for me personally.

I have heard something about spontaneous kundalini experiences from some Dutch folks I used to be in touch with. They were a really trippy New Age-bunch, but their descriptions of its effects seem to match other things I have read. Some said that it was caused by their Reiki-initiation, but others were pretty much in the dark about the 'cause'. The effects were reportedly the same throughout: burning sensations, rollercoaster emotions, atypical phenomena, etc..

I have thankfully never experienced it, but my kundalini isn't exactly in a full-blown dormant state either. I think it started to become more aware and more capable of feeding directly into me when I really awakened on a spiritual level. I'd just conquered the abyss, or at least survived it, and I think that the level of power I had at the time really shook that kundalini energy up. When I talk about it, now, I can feel energy flow in the lower half of my back. I like to say that the snake's head came to rest, temporarily, about halfway up my spine. It's been a very controlled affair for me so far, but I guess I'm one of the lucky ones in that regard.

Interesting topic..

Yeah...

One of the weird effects for me , was hearing
people's thoughts...

And then answering them...

They looked at me , and said :

"But I was only thinking that" !

......

Kinda weirds people out...

I have had some odd experiences, which others put down to Kundalini, but as I didn't actually do *anything* to bring them on, I am unsure. Is there anywhere you could recommend for reliable information on what can be correctly diagnosed as a Kundalini experience?
