A bit milder this morning, 10.3 degrees, in fact, according to the Temperature Measuring Device. This is probably because it's Cloudy, although it doesn't look quite as Windy as it was yesterday.

It has been getting colder which was an excuse for me to buy a new winter coat. I think it is still warmer than average here though...

rainy, foggy and mild. I prefer a short winter, given that we have 30 below temperatures and six feet of snow some years - but this is ridiculous.
I felt that several birds stayed here much longer than in normal years - the pheobe and robin in particular.

During the last six weeks I have been working in Germany, Austria and Serbia. Now all these places are used to occasional hard winters and I was prepared for that but nothing prepared me for temperatures of -25 degrees celsius which were the norm for the last few weeks! It was so extreme in some places that governments in Serbia and Romania had to declare a state of emergency (and hundreds of people died).

Now I am back in the UK for a few days before my next big contract begins and it is a balmy +8 degrees. It seems almost tropical!
I have also noticed buds on several trees which is rather early. It looks as if our Cherry blossom will be blooming before March!

We had full-on snow here over the weekend. As Cassie mentioned, some trees are budding, so these sudden cold snaps are not good for them right now.

Red face Re: Season Watch

well, as I reported in the other Thread,
Still pretty Chilly; it was quite frosty thing morning. I have noticed, though, that the, are they Primroses, the little primrose coloured Flowers, are beginning to pop out in the gardens down by the Lake. The Daddofils are as well, although they haven't quite summoned up the enthusiasm round here yet. Or rather, they've Sprouted, but they haven't yet got up the enthusiasm to Bloom. I'll keep you updated if they do decide to.

Beautiful, sunny, mild here today, feels more like the end of March normally does, I am soaking it up.
