Default QBLH 101: tifferet (the 6th emanation)

Tiphareth is the central Sephirah of the Tree of Life,
the keystone-of the whole creation, holding the balance
between all the other Sephiroth which it connects: between
God in the Highest in Kether and the physical Universe of
Malkuth; betweenthe upper and lower poles of the psyche
in Daath and Yesod: between the opposites of Chokmahand
Binah,Chesed and Geburah, Netzach and Hod; between the
similarpotencies of Chesedand Hod, Geburah and Netzach;
in fact it is truly the Mediating Intelligence assigned to it
by the Yetziratic Text.. There is fruitful scope for meditation
in all the triangles formed by, the Paths leading between
Tiphareth and the other Sephiroth and without knowledge
of what all these Paths represent and their inter-relationship
there can never be full understanding of Tiphareth.
The same applies to the other Sephiroth, of course, but the
inter-relationships of Tipharethare so fundamental and
various that an understanding of Tiphareth is almost
synonymous with an understanding of the whole Tree. It is
the Sephirah of Beauty, which means the Divine Plan
carried through into manifestation as it should be.

2. The Yetziratic Text states that all the influences 'of
the other Emantions,or Sephiroth, flow into Tiphareth where
they are blessed with an imprint of over-all unity. This
Sephirah then is the integrating aspect of the whole Tree,
leading towards synthesis and unity, which is a' state
towards which humanity has beenstruggling for thousands
of years and the lack of whichisthe prime cause of, pain
and suffering. It is because Tiphareth represents the goal
to which all must attain that its Virtue is that of Devotion
to the Great, Work. And as, within the soul of man, the
Great Work is regeneration, or rebirth, the Sephirahis full
of the symbolism of death, and resurrection. It is the
Sephirah of all the Redeemer Gods, including, of course the
Supreme exemplar of human redemption, Our Lord Jesus
Christ.

3. The Spiritual Experiences of the Sephirah are two in
number instead of the usual one. This signifies that there
are two sides to Tipharethand indeed it is par excellence a
linking Sephirah, reconciling the upper part of the Tree
to the lower. There is 'a .split in 'normal' human consciousness,
brought about by the Original Fall and this is
symbolised by The Gulf, placed just below Tiphareth. The
average man has little conception of the vast sphere of
his divine consciousness above the levels of the work-a-day
mind and will only be aware ofTiphareth consciousness if
he is of a religious persuasion. Even then he may have no
great functional awareness of the realisations of this great
sphere which confers a Vision ofthe Harmony ofThings and
an understanding of the Mysteries of the Crucifixion. And
it is realisation which is the important thing, not a mere
intellectual theoretical conception.

4. The colours of '. the Sephirahare pinks, yellows and
ambers which can be best perceived in the supreme beauties
of the horizon at sunset and dawn. The Name of God in
thisSephirah is Jehovah Aloah va Daath, meaning God
Made Manifest in the Sphere ofMind, but unfortunately God
is little manifest in the mind of man at the present time.
S. Harmony, or Beauty, implies health and healing and
so Raphael, the ,Archangel 'which standeth in the Sun' is
obviously an' integral part of Tiphareth. In ritual working
he is the Archangel who guards the Eastern ,quarter which
is the quarter of the Element of Air. The East has always
been regarded "as the, source of holiness; 'it is the point
where the light of the sun first appears after the long hours
of night, just as the, Spiritual Light dawns in the darkness
of unillumined consciousness. The Element of Air is also
a symbol of the Spirit, free-moving and unconfined, penetrating
everywhere.

6. Raphael can be visualised, as an alternative to the
Sephirothic colours, in the colours, of gold and blue of 'the
shining disc of the sun in a clear sky, raying the healing
and sustaining powers of sunlight, which include the forces
of' radiant heat, infra-red and ultra-violet besides .the
spiritual enlightenment and quickening of life of ,the Sun
behind the Sun. He can be pictured with wings which fan
the air causing a rush of fire and air which revitalises the
forcea of' anyaura it contacts-it is a great contact of
healing, spiritual and psychological as well as physical.

7. The order of Angels are called Malachim, Kings, and
can be considered as healing and life-bringing agents under
the presidency of Raphael. There is great healing power
in nature of course, the Sphere of the Elements, and the
Four, Elemental, Kings, the Rulers of the peoples of each
Element can be assigned to Tiphareth, though the' Sphere
of the Elements pertains really to Malkuth

Tifferet, Tippareth (however you spell it) or Beauty.
Here we find perhaps the "most important" emanation for the Hermetic Qabbalist. Here we find the emanation symbolised by the SUN. As such then, it is here we find solar beings..and as such largely solar saviour beings
christ, Michael, mabon, apollo, Beli, Quatzecoytl, Osiris etc etc etc
For the Hermeticist, the Sun represents the nuclear power plant that is at the very heart of being. Our being. This is why when a person speaks of themselves and says "I am...such and this and that" thye often point to the area of the solar plexus and the breast plate, near the heart. It is here that the Sun is said to be, at the heart of it all. Mediating, and letting everythign flow, just like our physical heart, pumping and letting blood flood throughout the entire body.

This HARMONY (an alternative name for this emanation)can also be seen at the macrocosmic level, as the sun is at the center of our solar system... indeed in certain hermetic traditions the Solar being mediates between the lunar world's communications (where we as homosapiens live)and the world of the stars, the stellar realm.

Merkaba

The Christ figure or solar being is often seen as this emanation. This is not some man with a beard but a cosmic reality and force, the solar consciousness. Chief arch angel here traditionally is Michael, although some place raphael (see Hod emanation 8 for further discussion). Of course while many "place christ" here...we can place christ elsewhere. We shall return to this when we reach the void and discuss the greater and lesser faces.
We can see by looking at the tree itself, that most connections are to be found here in Tifferet.

Tuesday - Tifferet
Y Today I explore my work and recreation as if for the first time. I experience the presence of Spirit everywhere I look. I know I am one with all creation because I am a divine idea of God in the becoming.
Y Today I am in harmony with the Infinite Creator—the Source of all that is good in my life. I celebrate the dynamic presence of God within me. I go forth into my life and multiply my blessings by giving and receiving in generous abundance.
Y In this moment now, I have all the time I need to be the reflection of the Divine into the world. I allow the greatest and best within me to come forth and lead me in ever greater unfoldment of who I am created to be.

Tiphareth
Number 6
Title Beauty
Image Messiah
Greek God Apollo
Luminary The Sun
Colour Pink
Relationships Breast
The Cross
Cube
Devotion and Pride

Tiphareth is the heart centre of the "Tree of Life". It is the Sun which all the planets
revolved around. It is the Buddha, Krishna Mohammed, Christ Child within us all. With
Tiphareth we all have the power to heal ourselves.

Tiphareth is the love we have for ourselves, not the passionate love of Geburah ( Mars )
nor the romantic love of Netzach ( Venus )it is the self love we have for own God within
us. It is our Faith. It is our own understanding of ourselves and such is the centre of our
universe, as the Sun is the centre of Astrological universe.

The Fact that Geburah ( Mars ) and Netzach ( Venus ) are separated by Tiphareth is a
wonderful thing. Here we have both the constructive and destructive elements of love
bound by the love of self. The extreme passion of Geburah and the soft vulnerability of
Netzach are tempered by a healing understanding of Tiphareth. Wonderful isn't it !
This Sephiroth also represents the earthly existence of the Messiah. It is the Christ, the
Buddha, The Krishna and the Mohammed in all of us.

As is said "The face of the Father is seen reflected in the Son through the spirit of the
Holy Ghost".

You can plot this on the "Tree of Life" by using the Father as Kether, the Holy Ghost as
Yesod and of course the Son as Tiphareth.

This Sephiroth also separates Hod and Chesed. They are the forces of Knowledge and
Intelligence. The energies of Mercury and Jupiter. Here again the need for Chesed
( Jupiter ) to build, make the law and organize are tempered against Hod ( Mercury ) in
it's need to understand and explore and create. Again it's the love of Tiphareth that holds
all of this in balance.

One final aspect of Tiphareth ( and there are really many more ) is the centering in the
Great Wheel in the "Tree of Life". This wheel has six points. The 5 Sephiroth that
directly touch it, not counting the 3 in the Supernal Triangle and 1 hidden between Binah
and Chokmah. This hidden Sephiroth is called Daath and is not drawn on the "Tree of
Life" and exists outside of the dimension of the other 10 Sephiroths. This wheel when
joined is the symbol of "The Star of David". It has the triangle above of Daath-Hod-
Netzach and the triangle below of Geburah-Yesod-Chesed. Draw the 2 triangles and you
will find the universal symbols of above and below combined into the "Star of David".

Beauty
God the Son
The Sacrificed Gods
Consciousness of the Higher Self and of the Greater Masters
The Vision of the Harmony of Things
Healing and Redemption
The Elemental Kings
Symbols: The Calvary Cross, The Rose Cross,
The Truncated Pyramid, The Cube, Vau.
Planet: The Sun
Color: Yellow

Of the Thirty-Two Paths of Wisdom the Sixth is known as the Intelligence of the Mediating
Influence. The Sphere of the Operation of Tiphareth is that of Shemesh, the Solar Light, and bestoweth
Life, Light and Brilliancy in metallic matter, and it rules the sphere of action of the Sun. And YHVH
Eloah va-Daath is a God of Knowledge and Wisdom, ruling over the Light of the Universe; and its
Archangel is Raphael, the Prince of Brightness, Beauty and Life. The name of the order of Angels is
Melechim, that is Kings or Angelic Kings, who are also called the Order of Virtues, Angels and Rulers
