Do you think that people have fear for today's modern witches just like the witches at Salem back in the 1600s?

Some do. Just was I was half as powerful as many claim I am for being a witch type person. Sometimes it is refreshing to read those opinions so I know just how much I subvert and corrupt people and how powerful they think I (we) am (are).

Some do, sure. I think it depends on the culture/country/religion someone grows up in, though, and how heavily this person adheres to these things. More often than not, I find people are just curious about it and surprised by the news that I am a very witchy person. I had a really good laugh when a friend told me "you're the first witch I've ever met and now that I have I wish there could be more of you!".. It's really nice to be able to broaden someone's perspective and enrich their reality through simply being present in their life. I don't think I've ever come across the really fearful, although I've come across the heavily judgmental and that's kind of the same thing sometimes..
